Well for all the national truck stop type companies, I like Flying J the best. Of all the big ones, they seem to remember to some extent what truckers want. They usually have plenty of parking, for the most part. Some type of restaurant (good or bad, take your pick)...accessories and shiney things for the drivers...etc.

As for Pilot....I use them about every two days or so. I rarely shower there as Im home daily but Im not impressed with their showers. The two that I have showered at have shower stalls set up so that half the water splashes out onto the main bathroom floor. No type of curtain or closing to keep water inside the shower stall. Otherwise...its not too bad. The pumps seem to be fairly slow.

as far as TA's...I've only been to two of them as well. Didn't really encounter the truck portion of one of them. the one I pass daily has very fast pumps, plenty of pumps as well as parking that allows trucks to pull two truck lengths ahead after pumping which results in even faster fueling.

Little America is unique. Im not sure what I think of them. I like how they completely seperate the diesel islands away from the non-commercial pumps. I think they have about 10-12 diesel pumps at least, along with a seperate building. Ridiculously overkill on parking but in WY, it fills up in the winter time for sure. Top notch bathrooms. Im sure their showers are the same. Little cafe inside there as well. Plus smoking is allowed if you like lung cancer. My only problem with them is that they are more expensive than other stops. Plus they have a hotel, a good sized 24hr shop and other goodies.

i dont know about a brand here, but i stopped at the nicest cleanest place i've seen yet today in texas!!
I-20 x-571 shell with a sonic and a texas something or another BBQ in it. kind of expensive to eat but really good and a very large ssandwich for 459. if you ever stop there you will be impressed with the restroom LOL. it is VERY nicely done marble and tile floors, walls, and sinks.

The service plazas on the Ohio Turnpike!

Huge pull-through lots, free showers, drivers lounge, and decent food. And clean.

i sure do miss the old 76 and the other old truck stops they actually cared about the drivers not just wanting the drivers money then get rid of the driver. at least you could go in and get a good hot cup of coffe for free and a really good hot meal.
