I have a C 15 MXS with a stuck waistgate valve. What can I do to free it? The actuator works but the valve itself is almost completely seized.
I was driving down I-84 on a very hot day and I lost manifold pressure. If I lug the motor to 1000 rpm it will go from zero boost to 60 psi. Not good.
The actuator when tested works but the arm that opens and closes the waistgate valve is 99% seized. You can move it slightly with a lot of encouragement. Is there any way to free the rod? Yes...replacing the turbo but as a temporary fix?

My turbo is good but my waistgate valve rod will not move. Is there any thing i can do to free it up? Besides replacing the turbo. It is a 2006 c 15 accert twin turbo.

Im not familiar with that specific turbo but most integral wg turbos are pretty easy to repair. Curious why its seized. The only time I've seen what you would call a seized wg the flap inside had come loose and jammed the mechanism.

We removed the primary turbo and the wastegate valve rod was seized in the turbo housing.
To fix it you must grind off the rod control lever and tap the rod into the turbo housing. Hone the hole with a drill bit wrapped with emery cloth and polish the rod. Reassemble the rod into place and mount the control arm on the actuator and weld it back on the rod. We put a washer between the control arm and the turbo housing to remove the play of the wastegate valve so it lines up correctly.
