The wife and I are fairly new to trucking..... we've been over the road for 2 years now..... we've been with this current company for 8 months now.....we get plenty of miles...plenty...5000-6500 a week easy.....and we stay out 3 weeks and are home 4-5 days and go out again........mu question is this.....our dispatcher pushes us so hard...to the point where we have to go sometimes 5-6 days without a chance to shower, sit down to a hot meal, just literally stacks load after load on top of one another.....almost to the point where of we stop to switch,or fuel, take our dog out, we're late.....when we finally have literally run out of hours and are capped out, sets us up with a rolling reset..alot of times by that time we just barely make it home......yes the money is good, yes we're getting miles, but sometimes we need our dispatcher to back off just for a min and let us breath....just sit still..when we talk to him about it,he just says we can't afford to stop and that's just part of trucking...that's this is how it works....I just can't believe that..... literally, drop trailer, run across town,or deadhead 150 miles and hook another load, drop that load grab empty, live load over here drop here, there for 21 days....and most of the time we're put on loads that are already late....like we drive a time machine.....is this normal....or are we being pushed too hard, when we are begging for our dispatcher to back it down for a min....just give us a free hours here or there??..

I'd have a chat with your dispatch...you will burn out at the rate you are going .

Pull into headquarters yard. That contains your VEEP. Make sure you have a nice pile of dirty laundry sitting all over your pax seat it's gotta be a weeks worth for smelling from both of you..

Quietly park truck, walk into veep's Office, ask him together to see something the matter in the truck, he will come out with you two. When he sticks head in cab and sees that laundry... you tell him to have the dispatcher give you a half day each week to do something for yourselves. It will conserve your hours and less the need for a reset.

That pile of laundry Is my royal flush in testamony to running very hard as a husband wife team.

You should check out "discuss your favorite company" in the Good and Bad forum. Might give you a better idea of what is out there.

......we have....at least once every time we are out... we're out for 3 weeks at a time.....as of today,we've been out 15 days 6 more to go....3 showers, and have been able to sit down at a restaurant once....the rest, peanut butter sandwich, tuna sandwich, Mac and cheese....been doing this for 8 months...our dispatcher says we can't afford to take a day off...and that this is part of our job

I showered on my 30 minute break, but then I made it a 45 to 50 minute break.
If you deliver near a truckstop just hold your empty call and do your thing and send it in later.
