I have a 07 Volvo 670 and my windshield wipers keep blowing fuses. the mechanic change the wiper motor it work momentarily and then problem came back . recently I tried to turn them on and they stayed off it wouldn't even allow me to put in another fuse in to come back on they unplugged the wiper motor from the harness and saw that even though the wipers were in the off position is still had power going it. So next they ran a wire from the fuse terminal all the way to the wiper motor outside of the harness. It worked for about 20 minutes then failed. Finally they put in a resettable fuse and it worked for an hour and now it's just continuously clicking however the fuse hasn't blown so I can't reset it.

i am wondering if the ground is back feeding into it?
try a new ground wire from the wiper motor (preferably one of the bolt holes, to ground. maybe go to a good known ground source under the hood.
you may have lost the grounding strap from the cowl to the body. try locating maybe a hanging wire//cable around the firewall area.dphillips Thanks this. -
try to see if wiper mechanism is getting stuck most likely the case and motor is drawing way to much power. either that or check in the steering column sometimes wire rub on the the aluminum

Yeah he checked the transmission to see if it was getting stuck but it looked fine. Also the harness going into the wiper motor and it had power going into it even though it was in the off position

Have you asked Volvo about this? There a section for truck makers further down in main forum. Call a Volvo shop about it.
dphillips Thanks this.
