However, I failed to understand the excuses - this is a business with real hard issues and it doesn't matter what the home life is like, the truck comes first. You need to manage the money in order to have the fund to repair it and that all comes first, this is a business, nothing more.
I know I am harsh about this but here is the thing, it isn't the safety of your driver I worry about but my family and others when your truck is around them. -
SL3406 Thanks this.

Look into ooida or tvc and fight the tickets, being guilty doesn't make a difference, alot of times a judge will cut you slack.Ladytrukr Thanks this. -
Seriously I have seen some pretty cheap owners, many of them have stuff falling off their truck or their drivers are doing crap to keep it together. Where I live, off of us 23 in Michigan, I see a lot of junk coming out of Ohio going north and rarely see cops pulling someone over to do an inspection, but I've hit mud flaps, chicken lights and my daughters old car hit part of a bumper that fell off a truck, not the mention all the gators we've all avoided.
I get it that some don't care while others like you try, so I am harsh because of the fact that we need to get rid of the ones who don't care.Ladytrukr Thanks this. -
Talk about cheap. Tell those mother cluckers in Michigan to spend some money on the roads.

I've seen the same crap litter the highway but it's going north and south, not just coming out of Ohio. Coming into Michigan from Indiana is the worst place for the land mines littering the highways.

That's perfectly fine you feel that way. As for me and my trucks, I give them TLC at all times, and I take them to the TA for any maintenance also for warranty purposes. I installed the lights myself and I make sure they go through the truck wash regularly. This is the first time I put a Driver in my truck, I usually let them run my Volvo. That was a learning process for me, but any advice I do get, it's greatly appreciated!
And I'm in Chicago BTW lol -
Best piece if advice i can give you ! Family worst employees! But find yourself a good shop run your trucks through every two weeks for greasing and look at !
Ladytrukr, BigBob410 and Love Trucking Thank this.
