One of my professors in college said that Long Haul Trucking is a great profession for people with ADHD. A lot of you probably have it don't even know it or at least a mild form. Driving forces you to focus and it calms you to a degree, at least if you're not driving through Portland or la or New York City
I'm prescribed Adderall and klonopin can I still drive? Will employers hire me?

Oh sure. I believe you.
I just have a hard time with the overall situation that's all. I can very easily imagine a dispatcher failing to get a driver home in time to see his doctor for prescription.
And even if there was another who had a stack of adderall to give him, it will also be illegal LOL. -
I drive and was OTR while taking it and has no issues.

You can get by with addy but driving on a sedative. COME ON MAN.

The trucking industry is mafia bruhhhhh

I am prescribed Adderall and Ambien. I've never had any issue. Yes I do pop positive for amphetamines. I'm asked for the doctors name and the Rx # if I have it handy. It's not the company that does this but a rep from the drug screening lad - a nurse or PA normally.
You are not required to volunteer this info to a HR person at your company. WTF do they care? Does that high school graduate who has less of a future behind a keyboard than I have behind the wheel of a truck have any need to know what my medical history is? -
Not poking fun at this.... for I have never been in those shoes. But I can't imagine a life to where I had to have meds to function in life or society. Or a alcoholic that feels rhe need to be intoxicated evvverry single day of their life. Or the central Florida oxy addicts that would sell their soul to the sorrdevil for their next fix. Sorry had to use central Florida for my example use to live down there every other person down in pasco and hernando county was a pill head

Wait..... wait... what were we talkin' about I forgot LOLKillingTime Thanks this.

I thought driving would be great for me because I don't really like dealing with people. Come to find out, I have to deal with literally thousands of them every single day, at their absolute worst--when they are driving.
Every driver leader I have had has remarked on the fact(when I finally do call) that they have spoken to me maybe once a month or two... if they kept me moving and made sure my pay was correct, we could eliminate that one phone call, I told them lol.
Anyway, you'll need to find a doctor who is convince you can operate heavy machinery while on benzodiazepines. As a former recreational and ridiculously high dose user of many of them, I don't believe for a second that even with a high tolerance for them, I would be better at driving a truck in Atlanta traffic.
Weed on the other hand, I'd be calm and collected. I wouldn't even change lanes unless I was forced to lol. "Hey that was my exit back there... oh well, there is another one coming up at some point."
Benzos though... no way.
