Bad Accident, I-80 near Larkin in Joliet

When ISP gets done with him he'll wish he died! I bet you he'll be looking at vehicular manslaughter charges, as well as failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, reckless driving, possibly distracted driving. IIRC I-80 thru Joliet is restricted to 55 mph, and chances are he was going faster than that. Heck,DOT probably had to shut down both the Mokena and Orland Hills chicken coops just to respond to the accident.
Either way,they're going to throw the book at him!

 

That area is just a complete cluster all the time. They are constantly building more warehouses in the Elwood/ Will County which just makes it get worse and worse... Adding that Toll Road at Houboult rd by the casino down to Elwood isn't going to relieve any congestion. They need to fix that south entrance off of route 53 south of the truckstops.

 

I'm so sorry to see this and am sending thoughts and prayers to those involved and their families. Husband almost went to West Side-they were in his top 2. Seemed like such a great company from all the research we did.

Ain't it funny how trucks have never had better brakes than what we have today yet these collisions like this are almost a daily occurance .
To many inexperienced drivers not paying attention !

I-55 isn't any better. Those scales in Bolingbrook have been reeling in so many trucks, it is causing them to stop on the interstate. I saw a three truck pileup the other day, and two more got into it today. All minor fender benders at least but still, one of these days there will be a bad one.

 

I can't link the story but the FedEx driver killed was a 50 year old Female. They have her picture posted on ABC 7 Chicago. Tragic.

 

####, I was there 3 hours before it happened. This should teach drivers to stop pulling over just to take a piss. Just sad

 

Did you read the artical where they stated the fedex truck pulling the trailers was broke down and the other was there to help them get going again? Read before you post.
