Nobody knows, every article I've read about the recent changes confuse me.

Why would the doctor do that?
If you have no signs or symptoms?

And if it does happen in a new hire situation, simply go to a different company.
There is something about refusing a drug test, but nothing about refusing a sleep study.

Well being over weight they can categorize you right off the bat. think my bmi alone does it but my neck is smaller than 17 so one sign. alone they can if they really want to press the issue. That's not right, just because you're a big guy your automatically stereotyped into a column of people.. I've really had no problem they ask their questions, I answer truthfully. except one time this DR was being a total #### so I just walked out. I guess it just goes by the DR. and how they feel at that moment.

I'm walking proof that you can be prescribed B/P med's after failing a DOT. Get on them, go back to the DOT you failed at get your card reduced too 1 year. Leave that job go home, talk to my primary get taken off the med's go back a few times and then I don't magically have high B/P anymore because I never had it. was nervous. got my primary to write me a note and now I have to go and bring that into them every time or else they wont believe me...but I got the two year back.

All this is because your over weight. so I guess being over weight is one sign right off the bat. but what symptoms come from that sign to support that if there are any at all?

Which basically sounds like nothing can be forced on you. it can be recommended, you could not pass the company's standards through their Dr but they cant report that I don't think? Which would let your card you did have still be valid? or do you just move on and go to another company like nothing happened? that's what I'm confused about and cant find anywhere....

well in my case they had to decline me as it was their company policy ( getting a 3 moth card dosen't actually exclude you from working ) , but i just went with another company that accepted my physical already on file with the dmv. no i didnt take the pre-employment physical to the dmv why would i if i wasn't getting the job it would just overided my 2 year card now i have time to get insurance and talk to my doctor about it instead of some for profit clinic that knows nothing of my medical history I understand I may be a real sleep apnea risk and intend to get it fully checked out once my health benefits go into effect.

So I'm 6'6" and 265 pounds and have always had a large neck. I exercise every day and I am a car hauler so I get plenty of physical activity. Even though I'm healthy just because I have a big neck I may be disqualified by some quack trying to make a buck?? Or am I being paranoid here? Also I sleep so soundly and don't snore heck my wife had put a mirror under my nose a few times when we got together just to make sure I was alive!!

Age also makes a difference. Seems like the sleep apnea stuff is not such a hot topic anymore. I guess everyone is on the ELD thing. It will be interesting to see if sleep apnea is still a thing in the future

How about with the ELDs coming seems lots of driver claiming they are being forced to drive tired. Because they can't drive 11 hours without a nap, are they just using that as a way to fight the 14 hour rule or are they really tired and maybe have a sleep problem.
