How can you alter minds that are essentially gone?

    Thorizine Shuffle comes to mind.../snark.

In my time I discovered boxes of caffinee pills. Take a handful. Maybe a bit more shortly. By noon box is empty. Super no sleepy trucker time.

Fast forward 6 weeks. Gulp two boxes by noon (About 80 doses or 150 coffee equivilant...) sleepy deadhead trucker fixing to kill a construction crew that closed 95...

I quit. Both the caffinee pills and the trucking company. Enough was enough. Those 6 people I think knew they were in harms way in front of my dreamland REM Express delivered by Mack and company....

I don't know about now. But 12 years ago when I went to JBH orientation, there were about 15 people showed up the evening before it began, they flew me, dunno about the others, to South Gate California.
Dude comes out and says " In the morning you will receive your pre employment drug screen, if any of you are dirty, please leave now, no hard feelings. Once you take the test it will be on your record forever."
The next morning there were 8 people.

They've had articles on how desperate some companies in Denver are for workers because no one can pass the drug screen.

Shipped to a drug tester at a walk in ER type clinic in Maryland one winter night.

Sit. A hour. Then two hours. Going on three. Doctor got annoyed, hey you aint got pee yet? Whatsmattawidyou?

Nothing Doc, we just go a thousand miles without peeing, money to be made.

Oh ya? Here a bill, 60 dollars a hour sitting on my chair waiting on MY time.... 180 and counting.

Better yet go outside 10 minutes after a bucket of water. BOOM... testing done.

Well, news to companies in Denver (native Coloradoan here). THEY SHOULD INCREASE THEIR PAY THEN.

    supply , demand.

Housing has more than doubled in the last 10 years here, everything is ridiculous (including complete lack of road building) but hey, same old $20/hour, .38 to .40c a mile

    Really, why bother?

Suncor just won a court case about random drug testing at its oilsands operations. Union says its unethical, company says its a major safety concern and cited how many incidents and near misses were caused by drug use. I support random testing. I have nothing to fear.

You have to deal with those people. Can they get anything right? Can they comprehend the intention of anything? They're the ones they make Zombie movies about.

I interpreted Dave's think about what post in a slightly different manner. Dave was probably imitating that his mind is gone from drug use...

I say this and I'll say it again, anyone in captain of a 40 ton 18 wheeler or bigger doped up is flat stupid. That is not a place to be indulging in that kind of escapist behavior. In fact, if life is so bad and horrible you have to ingest drugs somehow to make it better.. then things are really bad.

Im coming up on about 60 days roughly in between doctors and medicines myself. Im enjoying this time because the clarity is really good all around. Maybe do some more surgery work to fix a couple of problems left where possible maybe. But Im sort of sick of hospitals right now so that can wait a while.

Just so all the old people in the thread are aware... By the time we're your age we'll be able to buy marijuana edibles at the gas station. We might have to show ID to prove we're 21 or older. I 100% guarantee they won't drug test for it anymore. It's definitely significantly safer than booze or opiates in literally every way.
