Hi! I am a dispatch manager for a specialized hauling company. I feel that our company does not have a competitive pay package for owner operators and am working on putting together a comparison list to prove it to them. We do only steps and DDs, legal and oversized. Our freight is company freight out and a backhaul back to terminal or port. I have searched the internet for open trailer companies sites, but most do not post exactly what they are paying O/O. Will anyone post their pay percentages, and any other benefits? Company freight pay% Backhual% Selfsecured% FSC% Trailer Rent if any? I would appreciate any response. :)

Call them up and ask their recruiters. That is information that they give out like candy to a prospective o/o candidate.

I am leased to a good carrier and the pay is simple. 85%, minimum $2/mi. to the truck, and no deductions. Anything less is not worth the time and effort.

    Shadow3829 and nax Thank this.

That's actually pretty good. I am at 80% +fuel surcharge no deductions except for my trailer rental which hopefully I will have a trailer by next year.

    Shadow3829 and nightgunner Thank this.

I’m at 76% with 100% surcharge. No trailer rental unless I haul a load for myself. Fuel card with discount if I choose it. They pay for plates upfront if you choose and take them out in 8 payments. And of course insurance is deducted monthly.

Also I will top out at 79% after 3 years.

    Shadow3829 Thanks this.

Pay for your plates, insurance, and 2290 upfront yourself. You will actually save a lot of money. Plus you are not tied to the carrier at all. It is actually quite liberating to know that you are 100 % self sufficient.

Shadow3829, nax, Hurst and 2 others Thank this.

I cover 2290. The plates that I get through them are around ~1200 a year cheaper than if I were to buy them as they license in Indiana. It was a cost saving move up front but I have the bankroll to purchase independently if needed. Hopefully in a few years will be in a position to move entirely away from them.

    Shadow3829 Thanks this.

I used to be. The relationship between us was quite dysfunctional, so I chose to end it.

    nax and HalpinUout Thank this.
