I think he was saying the truck grosses 6k a week, he gets 25%. Not that he's personally getting 6k a week.

Pretty low weekly gross for a flatbed considering current rates and availability.

That would be pretty generous considering fuel.

My 25% came out to roughly $1,000 a week. After fuel. 8 years ago,

A 25 percent would be a company driver, and it should be calculated before fuel comes out.

    Yeah, but that's plus fsc.

84 cents a mile is low enough that even if the company pays for all fuel, all licenses, fees, and taxes, and the truck has a bumper to bumper warranty that includes a free rental while repairs are being made, it would still hardly be better than running as a company driver at a mega. I don't know what all the expenses are for these guys, but if you are running 2500 miles a week and making money that would shame most new drivers, something is very wrong.

If I understand correctly, the typical lease payment including extra mileage, etc. is in the neighborhood of $1000 per week. If you run 3000 miles with FSC you might get around $3400 under the Transam deal. Take out lease payment, fuel, insurance, etc. and you have bought a job. But not just any job. A job where you can work your tail off and get a negative settlement check. Far far better to put in your time as a company driver for a couple of years, then BUY a truck (truck payments are far lower than lease payments), then lease on with company that pays a percentage of revenue.
