I seemed like it took for ever. I start school this monday. It's a local school a few miles from my house, so this works out well. I've been driving a 6 wheel propane delivery truck and decited to upgrade to a CDL A. I already have my permit, I took it on my own one day. Im tring to decide on who to go with once Im done. Werner and Swift have accepted me so far. I think Millis would be a good bet. I applied but havent heard back yet. My over all goal would be to pull gasoline, propane or oil.
I start CDL A school this monday

look at all the companies that are offered to you from your school and on your own, find the one that is the best for you. Talk to drivers for the company face to face these forms are not always the best place to look for info. I am finishing up with Werner and so far they have been great. Werner, Swift, Covenant, Star, ect. All know they are a steping stone for drivers. Get your experince then move on. Hope this helps
Buster Thanks this. -
Thats the plan. I take everyrhing I read here with a grain of salt. I figure theres two sides to every story. Thanks

Best of luck Buster, I just got my CDL-A on Monday. I'm looking at May and Swift, and will be looking start work in approx a week.

Im also looking at Swift. They move a lot of fraight in my area. I'll have to check into May, I havent heard of them.

Best of luck to you Buster. Let me know how things are going for you. I've been on the fence about driving for quite sometime now. Still undecided...especially with the slowdown but ya never know.

Im with ya, I figure it cant hurt having the CDL A. I have the "B". If I can get a job driving it's more then Im making now. Plus I love driving and travleing.

Well, so far so good. (Rember, I have a CDL B for years). Driving the big truck has gone well. Shifting (10 spped) has been fine. The instructer told me Im doing excellent. I think tomorrow we start backing, this could be intresting as yes I have backed a straight truck, no never a semi. But I have a lot of confidence in myself and I'll work hard to do a great job. I definitly have to study, and study hard for the "cab and outside inspection", lots of stuff the DMV road test guy can ask.
