How long have you had the rig? do you have a mechanic experience? I would start with fuses and wires. if they seem to be working it is mechanical failure. You can take the cover valve and check the rockets. I mean you need to know what you're doing otherwise no use taking the cover out. the engine needs tune up. If ur mechanic is knowledgeble it is no brainer.

The truck in question is my profile pic, Ive had it about 3 years, my uncle owned it before that. Its always worked no problem. I own the company and i have a full time mechanic but he isnt the best with electrical componets so i usually do the electrical myself. i havent had a problem with any engine brakes on any of my other 13 trucks. I was just hoping for a few key spots to check so i dont have to spend much time troubleshooting. I checked all fuses but there isnt one marked for the engine brake.

Check that the engine brake switch is receiving power and also giving power to the engine brake.

It could be a faulty switch.

Okay i havnt had a chance to do much trouble shooting but last night when i wa on a run i realized the cruis contorl dosent work on the highway, which is weird because it works when im pumping off to keep the engine rpms at 1k.....

Check the relays in the fuse box

Also make sure the switch is plugged in on the back. Seen that before. Eliminate the 2 easiest things in question. Also make sure your gas pedal is retracting all the way when you let your foot off it. There's a microswitch in the pedal that turns on the Jake's as well

Make sure you can hear it click and that it's plugged in
