I use them but they dont do it all for you ! You have to give them the info! You haveto scan your receipts ! E-mail your fuel statements! If you dint do your part then your wasting both of yours time and money!

If your a company driver no its not worth it but if your an owner. Op it is alot cheaper then most accounting firms for all the services I use!
-
Here's my favorite deduction which 85%of owner ops dont use because they dont know or to lszy keep up with deadhead miles! Its a business expense ! Fully deductible! But only if you keep track and report it monthly
-
Thete are loop holes that the big companies paid for ! Its up to us to use them to our advantage also! Thats why all big companies send it to trucks!
-
Deadhead mileage is not deductible - PERIOD!VTech and redoctober83 Thank this.

I have atbs and have used them previously as well. They do a pretty decent job for me in a l/p but I have a lady that is a cpa, worked for the IRS and is currently one of a dozen master trainers for h&r block and has done trucking accounting primarily as her business for years and she offered to do everything for me for $75 per quarter plus $100 for tax filling per year. I'm going to drop atbs probably after the first of the year and go to her. I know some drivers that use her and I know there is nothing she enjoys more than fighting and winning against the IRS, so I'm pretty convinced on the lady. I took my taxes to block last year with a disk with all the copies of my receipts and they threw a fit because I didn't have it all itemized and added up for them and then charged me 400 bucks. I'm not ever going back to them. And anyone should be careful using them because my niece went through their training and trucking or the associated deductions are not covered in their training.

Yeah I know, some people just don't seem to get the truck is over 10k gvw, it don't qualify for mileage.
I've seen people use it, they swear by it but I know what audits are like, especially when the agent is a prick and needs to make points, he will apply every thing he can to collect as much money as he can and seeing mileage on a tax return with a 2290, just gets him going for another audit for the previous 6 years to see how much money he can get - money are points for them.
I won't use ATBS, they failed in the interview when I had asked them a number of scenarios plus one of my friends use them and they screwed up his finances because they didn't get all the receipts scanned and the numbers in for taxes, cost him a lot of money.48Packard Thanks this. -
You can't just send them a spreadsheet at yrs end?

No it doesnt work thst way! LOL!
