Setting it before driving, and not touching it is fine though. -

It sounds to me like the DOT doesn't even want us scratching our ### because it would require taking one hand off the steering wheel. What about the radio? Are we allowed to touch the volume dial in order to turn it up or down or change the station.
I'm pretty sure I could fight that one in court and win.
Especially since I have 38 years driving experience with an unblemished driving record.
Just saying.
And I understand the point you are trying to make.
Thanks for pointing it out. -

waze uses nearly twice as much data as google maps. I spent the last 4 weeks on waze and it's used nearly 500 mb, while the months before I've used google it's used 300 mb / month. I believe Google uses waze for traffic updates anyway, so it's not as fast as waze, but nearly as good.

Actually Waze and Google Maps are one in the same now in a buyout a few years ago. But Waze simply adds a "user input" interface and more of a "social networking" feel. But the traffic monitoring and reporting has always been a Google technology

I just don't get it. I could understand when most had 10 and 13 speed sticks, that 2 free hands were critical, but with most now with automatics, WTF is the big deal about the hands free?
Let's be honest, the real distraction is not the one hand holding a phone, the problem is the conversation itself.
I'd rather ride with a guy who holds a phone 10 minutes in a day than a guy who spends 7 hours/day on the "hands free" phone.
Somebody had to say it.
