Im not here to cause trouble. I am working very hard to be with greetings and motivational sunshine for you. Nothing overboard mind you. But I detect a little bit of darkness that really ought have to go away in the future.

In this industry you have to take alot of the driver reviews with a grain of salt. There are a lot of lazy truck drivers who dont want to run their 11 hours, and just sit in truck stops or terminals #####ing about their company. Basically every company out here is what YOU make out of it. There are people at Swift etc making decent/good money. Work hard, dont be late, dont damage the truck or freight, and go anywhere dispatch sends you and you'll be surprised at the $ you make pretty much anywhere. Good luck

Millis Transfer hires felons & ex-cons. Their drivers make $50K+ annually. Millis has their own cdl school and you'll need $500.00 for that. The rest is free is you stay a year.

This is a valid concern. You do not want to be trapped constantly speaking the word Experience combined with potential rehire with other companies that may or may not reject your time of service with the previous one.
1- You work for a company, to thrive and grow within that company. Generally you might invest about 45 to 55 years of your future with this company. Whom will go through generations of a work force as drivers retire either medically or literally retire.
2- You are not working for a employer now already thinking to change to another employer, how does your current boss would feel if you were fixing to jump ship so you can earn a few cents more per mile perhaps? IF you looked at part of my work record which contains about 50 seperate employers, half of whom are no longer existing. Some of that progression was specifically to improve equiptment and ESPECIALLY to IMPROVE Mileage pay. I made.. .30 a mile with rocky express. Suddenly Turncoat Highways service wants to pay me .34 next week after orientation. Since Rocky has not paid me a raise in 6 months Im going with Turncoat.
Surely Turncoat would be aware that if Mr Bigshot wants to pay me .40 as soon I get myself to his orientation completed Im going.
Next thing you know in 18 months I have managed to breach the almighty .40 cent per mile wages problem. It's all mine now. If anyone else wants to hire me and my relatively stable record combined with no accidents to speak of etc they are going to have to PAY ME.
And it aint gonna be .42 a mile. No sir. I literally said to the recruiter that your outfit will have to pay me considering that I am bring on a wife for a reefer team as a mighty strong asset to the company. They had eyes that could only count up to half a million in revenue that year in 2001. They handed me .48 and then .32 to spouse with hardly a arguement. That is a pretty good plush wages.
If I was to have this converstation again with that one boss mr big, it's going to have to take the form of "Pay US." call it .65 for me and .45 for the spouse. After 16 years since 2001, we are NOT going to leave a employer for just .02 piddling raise in wages. You are going to have to sit down, wet the ink and start writing a nice wage number that reflects our experience, safety record and pretty precision appointment time deliveries where possible.
IF we both were still active rolling on the highway today all these years since the crappy .32 and .48 a mile pay.
Sure you can fire both of us and stick a couple of immigrants into that cab as a team and pay both of them .40 a mile total with the instructions, split it between you two. So a proper fist fight maybe a blade or two will settle who gets what.
