Thanks. This one's had a motor transplant. It was originally a 6v92 but it has a '83 big cam 3 that wasn't even a truck motor, but listed as genset/ marine application. So, even heavier duty maybe? And its spring ride which I'm not crazy about but this is just a means to a better truck, not something I plan to have forever. The guy who traded it in was driving otr with it so its all there and functional, just needs a few things. No city horn, needs a secondary air gauge, speedo doesn't work. Thinking about a GPS controlled speedo instead of trying to find old parts. Thought about an air ride cutoff for the back but that's more of a luxury than a necessity at this point. We'll see how it goes when I get it on the road

My city horn worked up to the steering wheel but not at the steering wheel so, had to put in a push button and now I have a city horn. I wouldn't have worried about it but neither of my air horns work at this time and they are $100 each to replace, can't get parts for them anymore. I got lucky with the ride, mine has 4 air bags in the back but spring ride up front. I have plans to replace the front axle with an air ride axle in the future. I have the same engine you do than, good motor.

maybe,i really cant recall the law wording . the dot checked my electric horn and ignored my air horn. maybe thats because after the one worked they didn't care about the other.

Or not lol. I can assure you the federal govt already has a law in mind to get rid of the "emissions unfriendly" trucks on the road
