    I have my CDL class A permit I am looking into going to sellersburg, Indiana to (TDI) truck drivers institute to get my class A license. Does anyone know some good companies to start with. No team driving, and a contract for 1 year or xxx,xxx miles isn't out of the question for me as I don't exactly have a place to call home at the moment. Any other suggestions would be appreciated as Ive wasted a week already talking to PTL.

    You posted you're going to TDI cdl school. You can apply online now for those companies and they'll offer you a job contingent upon graduating from cdl school.
    Apply to all of them; the more the better.

    Stevens Transport is pretty quick to hire for their cdl school. They start a new class every Monday.

    The contracts are only for when the company pays for your school. If you pay your own school there's no contract.

    Stevens Transport is probably the fastest to get started.
    Roehl Transport is good, but slow on the paperwork.
    CRST is fast to get started.
    Carter Express
    Online Transport
    Sodrel Transportation
    Contract Freighters www.cfidrive.com has excellent reputation.
    Maverick Transportation

    You can go to the unemployment office and ask for a government grant to cover it. The way they see it, you'll generate enough tax revenue to cover the cost within a year. No contract.
