    20171017_122800.jpg Hey all!

Has anyone ever encountered a fuel leak in their N14 fuel pump by the filter housing?

At first I thought it was the com fitting, but after taking it off and placing a plug, the fuel leak still persistent.

It only leaks while it's cold, cranking, and a few seconds after it warms up. No leaks when it's warm, and running. [IMG]

Fuel puddles up on top of the filter, but the housing above it gets wet. Here's a pic

Probably leaking from between the housings, orings dried out, shrunk.

Is this serviceable? Just unbolt, and replace o-rings?

I am sure it is. It's been a while. That section between the filter base and engine block is the pulsation dampener. It could be leaking too, and also has a sandwich of plates and orings. We don't see too many N14 anymore, and I can't even remember the last time I changed a fuel pump for one. If this pump is original or been there for a while, I would replace the whole pump as it is probably worn and tired anyway.

If it's leaking when it's cold, it's because the o-rings have contracted and is letting fuel seep through.

When it's running, the engine heat plus the fuel is expanding the seals preventing fuel from leaking out.

I would remove it and replace the o-rings and it should be fine.
