Well there is tons of freight goin into cali. Now when I was in training my trainer was a lease owner operator and he could go home whenever he wanted/ could get a load goin that way. now as far as pay goes I know my trainer got paid66% of 100% of the total freight bill. Plus 100% fuel surcharge, also $100 tarp pay. Also 66% of the detention pay(paid him 750 a day) and 66% of the OD charges for the load. There is also relocation pay which basicaly pays for you to get somewhere for another load. Now keep in mind this is what he got paid while leasing one of ats trucks. I know the pay is better for o/o but I dont know the particulers. As far as gettin into heavyhaul with ats they have a classification system. Bassically evreyone starts out as a class 4 thats new just entry level and you work your way up from there. If you have experience haulin OD freight then you can test into the higher classes during orientation.

66% does not sound fair to me.... Did he have his own trailer??
I pull a 35 ton manual detatch RGN / double drop with a flip 3rd. axle.. I get 75% of the line haul and 100% of everything else. If on a permited load they pay for all permits and escorts.. So, I get 100% fuel, detention (But have to wait till they actually receive the detention pay to get it in hand..) tarping, and any other accessorial charges.. -
ats provides trailers, permits, 100% fuel sc, 100%tarping and so on
