What did he do? Think it would be ok to forget to pull both knobs? Or presume that the trailer brakes would hold ant not bother to pull the cab brakes?
Seems foolish not to set both brakes.

If I recall correctly this happened at a UPS yard a while back. I would bet he stepped between his drives and the lead trailer to flip the air lines off therby stopping the unit. Sad.

I plan on getting my doubles and triples endorsement very soon, do the companies that run doubles and triples have trainer for this, I'm sure they do but I know I can pass the test on d&t but as far as linking the trailers that's a different story and I don't want to end up like the man in this story.

    Racing the clock.

Heres my doubles story. First gig, sent to pick up ONE trailer. it was a short trailer, dont remember how long. Hooked up and took off. About 30 min down the road company says - You have two trailers right? Um, no I have the trailer I was told to get. *crickets*

No worries, man. You'll be with a trainer long enough to put theory into practice. It won't take more than a couple of days to get it down right.

The most important thing is to develop a routine and then follow it faithfully. If you get interrupted, do a quick double check. It's easy to miss something if you lose focus. No one wants to be the guy throwing sparks off his rear box because he forgot to raise the legs.
