ps: I TOLD ya I haul Lentils in the Winter..... I just spelled it wrong. SOMEBODY (maybe @Cardfan89 ??) AGREED that there IS such a thing; I just spelled it wrong. They are miniature (and moveable easier << if that's a phrase!) Jersey Barriers they use for late season construction, and the undergrounds in CLE and such.

Off to work in 25 mins guys; just wanted to know if that Hot Shot was even LEGAL pulling that HH load on that tiny arse trailer. Maybe, I don't know; I'm always one to try to learn. Idiot as he was for hauling bootay instead of the load. Dont' know if he could've dropped the trailer anymore, with where the trailer hooked up to his 'rig' .... just looking to learn, guys. Not bashing.

Six is the expert on the deal, IMHO... any one else; I'm sure listening! Great arske thread....

This would be @johndeere4020 territory. I read the news report and it says BACKHOE. They call him a truck driver and they say the driver fled in his "tractor". That thing looks like it connects via pintle hook. Was the guy in a pickup truck? This isan escavator. That' a whole lotta weight for a pickup. And the trailer is so small that he couldn't face the boom to the rear andtuck the bucket. Thats 101 stuff.

Twice caught driving on a suspended license makes me think that he was in a pickup. If your license gets suspended, you lose the CDL part.

A classic example of why the majority of new start up business go broke in there first year of operation they get some kind of dream idea that they can start a business and everything will work out well and fail to plan for all possibilities in the day to day running of a successful business as one very popular motivational speaker quoted "failing to plan is planning to fail" and that's what happens.

Well it was pulled by a little dump truck there's a picture of it in the video,

That's at least a 20 ton trailer and a 15 odd ton excavator so it's not really overloaded per se. I'm not sure off the top of my head what the tires would be rated at but it's probably pushing the limits. He does have it loaded in a decent spot for weight distribution. The problem is he didn't have it boomed down near far enough. However from the evidence we have I would say he's definitely an idiot.

^^^ Thanks, guys. Didn't think you could pull that with less than a class 8; though. Always looking to learn (and not be an idiot~! :) )

Closer to 33,000 in my experience from the ones I've been around, it's a 15 metric ton machine, Ritchie specs and my weight book list it about that too.

So that's the max for a Class 7 vehicle, right? Doesn't that require a Class B CDL? Yeah, I'm rusty.... still think a Class 8 with a real deck should've pulled that load.

You think maybe he did that so the end of the boom wouldn't contact the tailgate?

He couldn't tuck the boom because it would probably hit the tail gate on the dump bucket. I wonder why he didn't spin it to the rear.
