Pennsylvania Turnpike officials cut staff, costs

Lemme guess -- it'll be the front-line workers, not the decision-makers, whose jobs will be cut. Let's cut a couple of those official's jobs and save the guys whose efforts actually keep the turnpike patched together and who clear the roadway in the winter time. Whaddya think -- we can probably save four or five hourly jobs by cutting just one official? Hmmm...

 

It's a toll road, it has to turn a profit. I always thought tolls were just highway robbery.

If they start cutting the collectors you will see more drivers avioding the roaddo to long lines at the toll booths.

 

They plan to open more EZpass lanes. PA wants to go with EZpass only in the near future.
