Fmcsa is as bad as england if not worse.Students are nothing more then a team operation at least fmcsa could enforce more pay for the students.

Nah. I get hard hearted. Let the students sink or swim. They gots 3 months to do it right without wrecking anything. Fire em if they did.

I don't know the answer to that question.

Im sure all the other carriers will clamor to relieve themselves of 3000 dollar trainer costs to the trucks...

The article clearly states other carriers such as Prime and CRST also received original exemption but CR is only one thst has renewed it. As a current trainer at Prime, I can assure you the policy here is for trainer to be in passenger seat and alert anytime student on permit is behind wheel. Sure, there are likely dirtbag trainers who violate this policy but that is the policy here. Once the student is licensed, we run as a team for 30,000 miles (6-8 wks avg) before student goes solo if ready at that time.

I wonder if england has had any crashes just because of this exemption.

The new driver has "passed" the skills test in Utah, then goes on the road with his "trainer" as the company routes them to the new drivers home state to submit the paperwork.

    LOL
Facetious? Or just using absurdity to illustrate absurdity?

But seriously, would it, does it, matter? These are just "dumb truck driver" wannabes with no value or worth, and easily replaceable in the eyes of those at the top and in power. Nothing more then broiler hens in a chicken house
