oriden953 - tell the man you're sorry for your post. We're Canadian after all, eh?

Wow, that's a bit harsh. Considering I am unable to find employment in Ontario without an employer using LMIA, I don't know of another route to go. But please tell me, because I don't know. Is C$20/hr for local deliveries using an AZ license sub-par? If so, what should it pay?

Also, no, I do not like the current leader - he's an idiot.

I'm only interested in OTR work but, as far as local goes from what I've heard--lots of stops/starts in city traffic and having to unload yourself when working for companies like Sysco and GFS--local drivers should be making upwards of $28-$30/hr. Local driving in many cases is a lot of hard work and I've got respect for those that have to do it on a daily basis.

Andy Steiva is in Grimsby and $20 per hour plus benefits is fair for this area. I am about 20 minutes from his yard. I am told he just won some new business and bought 10 new daycabs and some reefer trailers. As the other post mentioned there are food service companies that pay more, but the work is much harder. I am told Andy is a decent guy.

Is there anyone you would suggest that would be willing to deal with the red tape? Just in case things don't work out with AS here.

What is wrong with the AS offer? Get your foot in the door and get working. $20 per hour is ballpark for that area. Sure you can do better but you may have to get a few miles off here.
