Ya know the only 2 brokers that have either sent me a carrier packet insisting on references, or has their R.M.I.S. account setup so that it demands 3 references from you before you can even proceed...have been the 2 biggest let downs I have run for.

I think I need to start asking for references from them!

I don't think any references are ever called.

I've put gibberish on one of those online packets, it was accepted.

I put gibberish too and they called me and insisted and I said nope....I still got the load.

Like I have time to go digging up brokers names and numbers.....everything a new to me broker could ever want or need is available on FMCSA or safersys.

In my office, in front of me the board now says NO REFERENCES.

Along with NO GDS, NO OCTANE, NO TRILOGY.

    The list is growing.

Having good trade references is not a bad thing to have for more reasons than finding freight. I haul for the same agents pretty often and those 4 big ones are my references. I use them for getting equipment loans, insurance quotes, and good paying loads. If you don't have 3 people that can vouch for you as a great entity to do business with I strongly recommend to work towards that.

Oh I have plenty and I don't need to be digging for numbers an then handing them out to other people. Everything a broker could want is available to them. They simply don't need to have a guy run home and dig up refs to run what may be one load for them.

And then they say TQL and one other one I run for can't be used because they won't answer or return calls. Duh because we are busy!

Use the tools given to you!
