You just pull over and give them all the room they need pal.

If they want to retire my driver that early then they can have him to come live with THEM. I'll keep my sanity, thank you LOL!!
You know but it's funny. I read in the Reader's Digest a few years back that at least 75% of accidents involving 18 wheelers and 4 wheelers it was the 4 wheelers fault. "I didn't see it"......

If we're still in the "unskilled labor/other" section of employment categorisation, then there is no warrant at all for a mandatory retirement age. Besides, competency behind the wheel is not something you can gauge by a number of years in existence.
Just another ambulance-chasing shark looking for something to hang his shingle from... "Hit by a truck? Hire me! I got thus-and-such legislation enacted! I can get you the money!"
-
Let me get this straight, they want to mandate a retirement age and they drivers 65 and older are not mentally or physically fit to drive a truck. BS!!!!!!! Then it says the leading cause of truck accidents are fatigue and driver error!!!!! More BS!!!! Then it says at the bottom that truck drivers are safe!! Make up your dang mind will ya! There shouldn't be a retirement age, there should be a stricter physical which should be enforced and not let driver's slip through the cracks of examiners who will pass anyone with a pulse! Yeah someone will needlessly die cause of some idiot 4 wheeler cutting off a truck while texting or doing something else that is distracting them from driving!

Rv's are not commercial vehicles.....................Just like pilots, they can still fly for fun.

Ive told this before
But our accountants cousin still drives truck OO perfect record at 81 -
###### boy! That's impressive to say the least.
The thing about this that really chaps my hide is the fact that truckers have to go through a DOT physical every 2 years. What does you average car driver have to go through? -
On a recent trip to Birmingham Alabama going around I-459, I notice a massive amount of cars in front of me with break light, smoking tires and horns blaring. Slowing down I got into a lane to advoid a possible accient and when I passed a car that was causing the trouble I said to myself, No wonder. An old man who was bent over the stearing wheel, no mirror on drivers side going about 35 mph in a 70 mph zone. It seemed that it made no difference to him on how slow he was going but it shows that there should be a point were testing should be done for older drivers.
But it brings up a whole new set of problems if older people who do not have acess to transportation, public or other wise. How to get to the store for food or the Doctor. How to afford a Taxie on a fixed income and can we afford more taxes for new Goverment programs to address this issuie? -
When we were talking to the Schneider recruiter we asked about ages and she told us that they see far less accidents with drivers over 50 than with drivers under 50. She also said that they encourage drivers over 60 because they see a drop in accidents and incidents.
