I am not leased to Landstar. I am leased to Tennessee Steel Haulers. I was just sayin I get alot of my freight through getloaded .....

Grizzly----- You are correct. Some of the freight on there is cheap, but if you call around you can usually get a better rate.

I used to run my own authority.

But when fuel started spiking it got real tuff because all the fuel money was coming out of my pocket and so I changed directions.

A friend of mine owns 8 or 9 trucks and has them all leased with landstar and he was the one who told me to try it.

Everything I learned from running under my own authority I applied to landstar and I love it. Things are going great even though it is hard right now but boy I wish I had started with Landstar from the beginning.

I was in exactly the same situation. It really is a case of "If I knew then, what I know now." I love it here at Landstar.

Why are things difficult and hard for you right now at landstar...thanks just curious?

Just curious of why? Deadhead ? Not enough work to keep you busy.?

Also its good to have trucks on with landstar but its hell trying to find good drivers.and the drivers that do quilify with landstar usually buy there own in 6 months to a year

It's hard because of the economy and the slow down.

Yeah that's the thing though I pay .36 per mile. and my drivers are averaging $800 per week right now that it is slow.

5-6 days out on the road and 2-3 days at home.

El Paso trucking companies pay about .24 cent per mile and leave drivers out for a month...

I encourage my drivers to buy their own trucks but many of them don't want the hassle...:biggrin_25512:
