admittedly i need class A experience, driving OTR or regional is not really an option; so i took a job at walton milk hauling doing farm pickup. its really one of the few choices that does not require me leaving out. i expect to work long hard hours sometimes without having the best pay BUT it will give me class A experience and still allow me to sleep in my own bed. my wife is already complaining i took the job, but too bad.... the only other option would have been going out for days at a time. she needs to quit complaining and let me do, what i have to do for at least the next few years
i took a job with walton milk hauling

Your busiest day will be sometime in the 2nd week of June - cows out to pasture. At least, up here.

Is she mad BECAUSE you’ll be sleeping in your own bed? Maybe she had something lined up!
Why else would she be complaining? You’re trying to do good, and up your way, there ain’t much to choose from.
Good luck in the new job, watch out for the back slap. Milk tankers don’t have baffles.Redtwin Thanks this. -
Good luck. I wish you well.

i am aware of non-baffled milk tanks. i spent 5 years working as a milk receiver before my CDL. i already have industry experience

Try to get a note book with turn by turn directions from a driver to the farms and life will be easy for you to get started!

i also know about the accidents that can happen. i watched a bugman roll over and burn. all i was saying is that i know about non baffled tanks. the reason is the CIP system has to be able to get it clean.
i know this is not something to be taken lightlyFarmerbob1 and Gunner75 Thank this. -
What kind of schedule do those guys run on? Up here thats the killer. I hauled a little milk way back when. As the young single guy l got to work Christmas day because the married with kids guys all took it off. The upside was they didnt mind working new years eve so it all worked out in the wash.
