Im in CDLtraing School and looking into some potential trucking Companies, first off Im a woman and I don't want to drive a flatbed and want to be on the weekend's. I'm also looking for a company that is pet friendly, we have had several recruiters come to the School but there are so many Companies out there you don',t know who is pulling your chain and who isn't. I want a Company that back's their employees and has that takes good care of their truck's. Help i need some advice

@Chinatown before this thread blows up because she has a cute Avatar! Lol! He is our resident "knows a bunch about companies hiring and their policies"! What area are you from?Last edited: Nov 4, 2017

Where is your location?
Do you have endorsements?
Your age; are you over 21,22,23? -
Asking that here you are just as likely to have somebody pull your chain too. Read company reviews here, good and bad, with a grain of salt.

Watch out for those cats.

Seriously.... what are you looking for as far as OTR, or Regional, or Local? The weekends statement is a little confusing.Last edited: Nov 5, 2017
RDBG Thanks this. -
Im from Kentucky, and like i said im in training I still have 3 week's to go before I graduate, I'm not looking to drive a flatbed, I'm looking to come in by Friday and out on Sunday, Averitt has been a good option but not pet friendly, TMC is a joke, i know I have to go with a Company to get additional training due to I dont have enough expirence and miles under my belt, I want a Company who is up front and honest and good to their driver's.

Yikes: I'm from Tennessee, real close to the Kentucky line.
Weekends home, plus a pet will be difficult. Which city/town are you near?
Ozark Motor Lines - can take pet and they try to have you home every weekend.
Milan Express - maybe; call and ask.

You can’t really expect to get all of those things just starting out. Pets maybe but also demanding weekends off is a little absurd considering you want to drive Truck.

You can get most weekends off with Sysco. They have jobs all over. Good paying too.
