I would loose power truck and truck would run rough. No check engine light. Turn off and restart and it would run fine. Then after fueling up it would run rough and straighten out with out restarting. One time after fueling ran rough then check egine light came on . Diagnosis for egine light at TA read injectors 1 3 5 shorting. And then started saying pending. Reset it, started running fine . Carried to dealer said nothing wrong. Some time when I ran rough I would see white smoke coming out pipes. Month month later it did same thing engine light came on . Carried to dealer they replaced turbo , and injector harness. After getting truck back drove 150 miles and it did same thing. Carried it back to dealer and they said nothing was wrong and check engine was on. Drove about 400 miles and had fuel leak . Fuel pump was bad. They replace it. Also during this time I replaced fuel filter ever 4k it rise up then it would go down. Everytime I replaced it it would rise up immediately after starting. The fault code that came up was 2797. I also have an active code 1727 fmi 4. I have a k r scan guage. When I first got the truck it I did the same thing and they replaced the uv harness and injectors. Can somebody please give and idea of what might be wrong. I almost close to filing bankruptcy. Warranty paid for turbo , fuel , pump and injectors but they keep it a month

No code for 1727 under the engine, must be from a different module. Code 2797 is injector 1, 3 or 5 shorted. The ECM cannot pinpoint which one. Usually the injector coil shorts only when hot after the engine has been running for a while. Which injectors did they replace? If they replaced all six and the uvc, then the outside harness or ECM itself is all that is left.

What Heavyd said for 2797.
I just dealt with a SPN 1727 on a Pete. 1727 is a pressure sensor for axle load. I assume you have a gauge for axle load or pressure in the air bags and have a problem in that circuit. That fault would be in the ECU that controls your instruments, not the engine.Whitebeardpig and Heavyd Thank this. -
Thanks heavy d, the injector harness was just replaced and it did the same thing after a hundred miles. Is there a way of checking ECM
-
Did they actually replace all 6 injectors?
-
Yes they replaced all six

if you got that plastic/ glass fuel filter check for any cracks this will suck air in the fuel filter and cause the motor to shake a bit look behind the filter closest the motor

This truck just did it again, got to my stop cut truck off, started it back up and it started running rough, loss of power and check engine light.

Ok, we actually have a truck in the shop right now with same engine and code as you. We are replacing 6 injectors. The problem only shows up once the engine is hot. We have seen this a few times before and injectors fixed it. I just realized the harness is complete one piece between the ecm and injectors. So since they have replaced it and 6 new injectors, your list of problems is quickly dwindling. It could be the ECM. I would double check to make sure it is the same code as before. Then, I would go around and clean all the powers and grounds, batteries, frame rail and block connections before condemning the ECM. If at all possible, see if you can swap ecms with another truck that also has a MF15 and run it for a few days to see.
