Not that anyone would want to but has anyone had this collision mitigation installed on their truck that didnt have it from the factory?
I wonder what the cost of getting this installed on a truck is, and truck requirements.

Bump... I really am very curious!
-
I really want to know that too.
Do you have any idea now? -
Is the company your lease to requiring this device be instaled?
I guess you could email the company and ask them? -
It really depends on the setup you choose. I did a replacement a few months ago and it was just over $3k for the module and the forward radar. That didn't include the labor, the cost to have the unit programmed to the truck, etc. It took me 10 hours to get that thing in the truck, get all the parameters set, etc. There is a gyro that mounts on the frame under the cab at the cross over that has to be installed, perfectly level and programmed. That is where the time will be eaten up. You have this long process of having the cab steady, raising the wheels up on one corner, then another, etc for the calibration of the unit. This was for a replacement so I can imaging a install would be a longer task.
I would suggest the Vorad for an aftermarket. I've installed them trucks that signed on to fleets that must have them. They took a couple hours and done. You mount the unit on the dash or in the dash, then mount forward radar, blind spot indications lights, wire to tap into the driver side speaker, and a quick parameter change to allow the system to talk to the CAN BUS. Done.bzinger and gentleroger Thank this. -
can bus ? hmmm... where and what parameters have you changed? what software have you used?
-
You have to change the adaptive cruise control setting and set to 1. You then use Toolbox to activate the Meritor so they communicate. You then need to pull the software update and apply it for the collision system. The MM one, not the MS on. MS is if you have the camera as well. MM is just for the OnGuard basic.
Then Freightliner ServiceLink needs to be used to set the addressing and then the modules can communicate.mhyn Thanks this. -
Freightliner ServiceLink still exist ?
-
Yep. it still does.

I have heard if you keep updating Windows at one point it does not connect to truck.
