Hello, can anyone advise on available elog solutions that allow for logging personal use / personal conveyance (aka line 5)? Also the on that can be set up for some minor radius / speed allowance before recording driving?
Thanks in advance. I'm not looking for comments, I'm sure there is a hyde park thread here, when you can express your concerns. Just looking for information about available elog solutions with those features.
Elog with conveyance feature.

My company is using KeepTruckin with the lastest Elog standard and we are in compliant with the new DOT Mandate. Cant go faster than 5mph without triggering on duty status. We can use Personal Convence if we are bobtail, or empty and not under dispatch meaning no preplan load. The DOT left the maximium mileage for Personal Convenience up to the carrier to decide. My company limits us to 100 mile on PC.
The real drawback I have with Personal Convenience according to my carrier is that it is clearly stated in the Government's mandate that you are still under dispatch after you unload. Only after you get to your terminal can you use PC to go home. So, after you unload at a customer, you cannot use Personal Convenience to empty home. Personal Convenience can only be use to go from lodging to get meals and back. DOT does say it is ok to use PC from home to your company's terminal and back. This is my Carriers interpretation at this time. I recently got in trouble with my carrier for using Personal Convenience to come home from a customer 240 miles away after I emptied because I went over 100 miles which triggered the violation to be look at. And i should not come home with PC because I was short of hours. The customer is not my terminal, so I cant claim that I was using PC to go to work and back home. In other words, rest 10 hours, before deadheading home even though it was 4 hours away.Last edited: Nov 11, 2017
