I second this.
They pay $28 / hour in Williston.
My friend hired on in Aug. and had 92 hrs 2 weeks ago.
But that won't happen anymore as they just went to using ELD's.

i've been in the oil fields off and on for 45 years. drill ship, jughead, geophysical ship, operation geologist, refinery construction, frac crew, well head, brine haul, cuttings haul, rolloff haul, and sand boxes.
the best paying job i ever had was well head-- rigging up the frac stacks, opening and closing the well during a stage, and rigging down after completion. i would make between $2000 and $3000 each week. good money.
the down side was 17-hour days, seven days a week, a month or more at a time, no time off until the well was done. 24-hour shifts if someone else gets sick. if you screw up coil tubing costs 3 million bucks, and you're history.
you do NOT want a job on the super suckers, IMO. there is no money worth that, and in ohio they pay only $13/hrnot4hire Thanks this. -
There's good and bad in everything.
You definitely don't want to work for an outfit like this one. -
That doesn't look so bad, that is compared to my first company. Not sure if I can mention their name here so I won't. But they're based in Edinburg, Texas and the yard I worked out of was their busiest, Kenedy.
As a local DPS trooper told me, "8 out of 10 times, when I stop one of your trucks, I put it out of service". And he did. He stopped me twice for an inspection and put me out of service twice.
That company would not fix anything until he put it out of service or it broke down.
I got to say this, because I'm sure it will get a laugh out of someone. There were so many things wrong with my truck that he said "your company should have a safety officer". I told him we do, it's you!
My boss hated him, he really did. I myself was afraid of him, but I and some other drivers knew he's just doing his job to keep the highways safe.rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
Outfits like that should have their plates pulled right now. Shady outfit tried entering Canada with a fleet of junk few years ago. Officials set up at Pigeon River border crossing and half them got plates pulled. Was a real Sheet show! Amazing what some companies try and get away with. FFS you need brakes and steering components in good working order.rabbiporkchop Thanks this.

I actually drove for that outfit briefly and had a rear axle come detached from the frame. It was pretty interesting having roadside service trying to bolt everything back into place on the side of the road after all the bolts sheared off the frame.
