I’m in Cheyenne, this is where I could limp in to. The engine is out and been sitting there for 4 days.

this failure could be fuel quality related. 80% ! cm2350 has updated pump.

I doubt it is fuel. I saw the inside of the pump. Tappets and rollers are shot, debris everywhere. Metal debris in the oil filter.

No, these pumps are failing on a regular basis. They need to be rebuilt every 300,000 to 400,000 miles. I would rebuild every two years if I owned one. Even the steel plungers are failing in new units if not rebuilt on a regular schedule. It is a design flaw that Cummins is well aware of, and quite the money maker for them.

Had it happen last year to us. The motor was locked up tight though. New crate engine and took 8 weeks from start to finish. Engine was out of warranty and Cummins helped a little. The shop however raped us.
