Not that I like defending Swift, but that pic looks to me like it may not have been Swift's fault. It looks like a construction company, or electrical company truck lost the load for whatever reason and threw all sorts of crap at Swift. I say this because of lack of damage to the grill. Swift did't rear end anyone. At least it looks like that to me.

    I agree
I just think it is hilarious when everyone piles up on them and then the defenders come out of the wood work. Which makes people pile on more. Lol

    Oxbow Thanks this.

If they had the internet 125 years ago the question would have been "Do you think this internal combustion engine thing is going anywhere? Should I still train in shoeing horses?". Million of people lost their horse-industry jobs as modern cars and trucks came into being over the years.

Driver-less is going to be the way of the future. It will take decades to happen but it will happen. When it can be shown that autonomous vehicles are even slightly more safer than human piloted vehicles the government will frame it as a public safety issue and make non-autonomous vehicles illegal on public roads. In a couple hundred years vehicles like we have today will only be found in museums.

People thought that rail transportation would be impossible. You can't have steel on steel and move. It will only spin its wheels.

If new trucks are going to have steel wheels I will gladly give my job to a robot.

The ladders are from a work van. They were on the roof. The van rear ended a truck. This forced the ladders towards the rear of the van. Swift hit the ladders because of the overhang.

The driver that rear ended the Swift truck was killed.
