    It was a mother trying to get out of California, sat for a day and a half! We took 4 different loads 3 cancled and i turned one down. The one i turned down dang near made me furious, my phone rings....

    Dispatcher: ok weve finally got one and itll take you one hour from your house on Wednesday so you'll be home thanksgiving.

    Me: Awesome, whats the rate ?

    Dispatcher: $6500

    Me: whoah, thats a lot. What are the details?

    Dispatcher: 42,000 lbs and a few stops.

    Me: (Thinking 2 or 3 stops) sweet, send it over ill get rolling.

    Dispatcher: Email sent

    Me: Dave.....WTF buddy ????

    Dispatcher: ......

    Me: 11 freaking stops Dave ? 11? In 4 different states that arent all even along the same route ???

    Dispatcher : You got this

    Me: ive done the calculations and if nothing goes wrong and i run legal id be home on black friday......

    Dispatcher: Oh....yeah i see that now

    Me: you gonna call and cancel this or am i ?

    Dispatch: How about Texas ?

    Me: Better.

    mightve been able to bargain for an xtra $500-$1000 for being out thanksgiving and told the wife youll have yalls thanksgiving saturday. thanks for the update.

    When I'm out of hours, my co-driver "Casper the friendly ghost" logs in and drives for my 10 off. He's a pretty good guy. Makes me, uhhhhh........ us, a lot of money.

    Reminds me of a guy I met about 3 months ago working for a Russian owned company

    He team drives by himself with a EOBR device , does 800-1000 miles a day "legally" and swears it was the company's idea !!

    Good so far. Picking up 2 containers in Louisiana going to North Carolina and then im off until December 1st........and the December 18th comes and still have no idea whay these guys plan on doing about eld mandate so thats a bit nerve racking. Ive been at the shipper since 8 am......its now 6pm.....they literally load one empty 20 ft container on me with a forklift then load the contianer by hand full of their construction stuff , it has taken forever!! oh well, they agreed to 12 hours detention time so i guess thats a plus but my day has gone to crap.
