I have called a dozen some companies, DRY VAN, Flatbed, and blah blah blah, the winter is going to hit and I am looking to do some Dry for now... Is there any of you that knows where I can find a decent company that is paying better then 1.31 including the FSC?

This time of yr is tough, add in the economy what it is and its beyond tough.
Sorry. -
Buddy..I wish you all the luck in the world.
But dry freight is extremely tight right now. And not looking good for the foreseeable future either.
Have you considered a lease with LandStar ? I know lots of folks don't like them. But everyone I know (personally) has worked with them for years. and wouldn't go any place else. -
I'll see when I start to hear better things. I just leased on with a company that is hauling mail, and also some government hauls for RGN and flat.

with fuel down the FSC is getting VERY thin. I don't see it happening. RIght now I sit in the truck stop cosest to MCT home ofice and it looks like I'm sitting in the MCT yard. not to mention there is three times as many trailers sitting in there yard then I've sen so far.
You also didn't mention if that's with your trailer or theres. you MAY get it with your own trailer but most van companies don't want you to run your own anyways so I still see it being slim odds.
the way things are right now but happy to find something with steady freight and US mail is usually as steady as it gets -
There is still freight on the ground.
You have to look at it this way: How bad do both the shipper and receivers want their freight moved.
You have to know what your "Break-even point" is and that includes paying yourself and just not the truck. "Profit" is anything above the BEP and that money should be used as a reserve to expand, pay for that future "in-frame" or buy that next glider kit (I won't buy a new truck with the new engines...they S*@K).
There is always money to be made even in a recession.
