"semi" retired, I do get up your way when I need to stop at Saint Croix to pick up supplies for rod building. Say "hi" to Rosco if your at the meat shop. He used to hunt with me in Colorado.
Greetings To All

I got it from a driver that changed careers. He took very good care of it, but it did sit for two years. I learned about biodiesel algae in the tanks. Nasty stuff. Because it sat, some water got into the injectors. Rusty collapsed injector springs. I put two reman injectors in and did a complete overhead right away. I am very fortunate that my daddy raised a truck driver/ wrench bender!
I did manage to remove most of the algae and the system it getting cleaned up with ValvTect cleaner.
I got the truck for $18,000, a good price, but it came with work. Working on it gets me very familiar with the nuts and bolts so I can stay ahead of issues in the future.
He changed the Rotella15-40 every 12,000 miles, very early for mileage. The result of spending too much money on oil changes, is a engine 1.4 million miles and it has not been opened up. It uses a gallon every 5000-6000 miles.
The mileage was a concern, but it's days of pullin' long and hard are done. Now it can enjoy retirement with me. An old truck and an old trucker ought to get along quite well together! -
Rugerfan, would that be a wood chip trailer?

Rugerfan Thanks this. -
As you should have got complimented on your rig. I really like the classic lines of conventionals, but the price was just out of reach. The old KW I used to drive had manual steering as well. Hell, I didn't know what power steering was until we got a GMC General. That had a NYC 350 that was tweaked a bit. I used it for hauling heavy equipment. The KW was a fuel tanker.
Are you still kicking the idea of a camper around yet? There are soooo many things that can be done and if a person has the equipment, the only thing limiting is you imagination... and the pocketbook!201 Thanks this. -

Very very nice! I would be a bunch happier if mine was as clean as you kept yours. I will get there, it's just going to take time.
I have an 05 ElecrtaGlide that me and Ellen put around on. It ain't fast, but I can ride it forever! The dangerous part is when, all of the sudden, the bike will lurch to one side or the other, without warning. She falls asleep and tips off to one side!201 Thanks this. -

I cannot quite tell for sure, but we have some black trailers like that come through past my place. They used to have black Peterbilts.
