lol, 8 grand a week a little different then $32 an hour..
Ill check out taylor. Thanks for the info. -
It was $8 grand, but I had a HOUSE in the oil field, not a trailer, he had a sleeper, and I was taking home $2000 a week for driving in circles.... Literally. I did 3 runs a night, if that. When it is 30 below and the snow is flying... I was late 40's, he was in his twenties.... I did not want the drama, or the bill of that payment every month. Not my first stint in the patch.
joseph1853 Thanks this. -
24000 a month for a house yeah i wouldn't want that bill either.. tell them just give me the money and ill find something cheaper lol.

You were not there... Not all peaches and cream, hear me out, as I may be taking your last comment wrong... I had a plan when I went up there... So, hopefully you get my point, that in the end my buddy screwed up. Comfort zone and fly by night outfits... I saved my monies and bought a truck, my buddy lost his eventually when it all fell apart. He never owned that truck, it was a lease... I bought mine, even though he way outdid me in actual gross income...

Right now, I am sitting in my paid for truck, clear title, my plate. This week, started on Monday, I drove aprox 1200 miles this week, and took two days off to boot, Tuesday and Wednesday, and am still going to NET $2800 this week... Started Sunday night, two days off and I finished Saturday at 1600 hours... All done, never broke a sweat, just doing my thing. I have a load tomorrow, 277 miles, pays $1550... A couple of skids of tailpipes for the Chevy Cruz... My buddy in the oil field is living with his sister last I heard... Just saying...

I probably didn't read your post correctly. I mean I'm sure you weren't spending that much on housing. It's good to hear someones doing well out there and not only that but enjoying there job. That's pretty much what I'm aiming for. Was listening to so-cal trucker on youtube the other day and he said remember it's not all about the money but freedom.. Rang true to me. Even if you make the same pay as a company driver which you wouldn't running your own rig the reality is your times not being delagated by a company dispatcher who has zero concern about you or what you need. People get all hung up on the money but the real motivator for me is running my own business instead of someone else doing it.
