Are the job opportunities really out there?

Dude, I have nothing to depreciate or write off... I have no credit cards, I have a cell phone bill and property taxes, that may be going bye bye... I am that guy, that so many want to be! LOL!

 

The work is out there. Some carrier options pay new drivers more/less then others. The first year is the toughest. Not everybody is cut out to drive a truck, and not everybody is cut out for classic OTR lifestyle [if that's where you end up starting]. Note: The two aspects mentioned are different and should be regarded individually.

Halliburton hired me on with the stipulation that I pass my CDL tests after two months of classes. I also got training on fracking work. I worked there for a year. Tough work, offroad driving. But gave me a brand new career.

 

I can answer that, advertising in foreign publications, come to America! We have lottery visa winners where I work, we are swamped with them in my industry, automotive... And then they bring in the entire family, neighbors, friends of neighbors, the guy down the street... No offense meant towards the gal that got that job at Halliburton, but when I worked for Baker Hughes, they were importing Africans that spoke no English, and to my utter disgust had never used indoor plumbing. They tended to squat and let lose... And if and when they figured out that toilet thing, they through the paper on the floor. Not the country I was raised in, and no offense meant towards the original poster.

 

The write off on the taxes, federal taxes, that is in the plan, no property tax write off. I wish I could get out of those! They don't do sheet for me, I live on a private road to boot! Imagine the winter months and you have to remove the snow! LOL!

I Take Flight in property tax writeoffs due to the fact I pay $7700 per year in them

 

In the tax plan congress is floating, they want to eliminate the property tax write off when you file... The thinking is that the blue states paying 50% in taxes, if you actually pay taxes will reform their state governments. That is the reason all of the blue state congressman on the republican side voted no on its passage the other day.
