a poster that frequents these boards went over to schnieder. then maverick bought out schnieder. he left maverick because he didn't like what was going on, or about to happen. but many others here that either work for maverick or have worked for maverick don't have too many (if any) bad things to say about them.

I met an 11 year driver for Prime at Frystown,Pa,All American Truckstop, asked all kinds of questions about Prime. He said he is in the flatbed division and runs ny and Canada quite a bit. I asked him if he lease purchased,he said kind of,but they have different programs,he just leases it and keeps getting a new one instead of ever owning it, seemed to be the smart way in the long run. He said he does really well there. I told him about this website like i try to tell the good guys and girls I meet. just wanted to pass this along. He does eveything he is handed and takes the good with the bad, he did say his dispatcher is great and has him all loads. He was about 45 50 yrs old.,believe hes had 23 yrs driving big rigs.

Can anyone give me advise, Good or Bad about Maverick?
-
I can refer you to my post about them. This will only give you my experience with them, and may not necessarily reflect the "usual" experience.
Are you considering starting with them, or are you being recruited through elsewhere (Schneider recruiter)? -
I've just started putting my feelers out for going into the Biz and was looking for some solid advise...Thanks

You'll probably have no real trouble with Maverick, just don't let them talk you into the new specialized division. It was recently bought from Schneider, and the guys there seem rather bitter over it.
Best thing to do, as there aren't many here who work for Maverick, is to stop by your local Truckstop. See if there's a Mav truck sitting there, and you see the driver, ask about the company. As long as you are not overbearing they will most likely give you a straight answer. -
The Maverick drivers I've talked to really like it there.
