    Wait -

I’m missing the “Drive line deviation to hit the store”

And auto correct wants to change deviation to devastation when Swift is in the same sentence.

    Mudguppy and ShooterK2 Thank this.

Must be because people use "devastation" in the same sentence with "SWIFT" so often. Lol.

OP, if the drive line breaks coming down a hill, there's definitely a good chance you'll "hit the store."

Finding grocery stores that have dedicated truck parking or where truck parking is manageable is getting harder by the month but they're out there and you just have to look for them and remember them for when you go back through.

Retailers are generally in the process of physically and legally restricting trucks, not encouraging truck traffic. Too many have caused too much damage and created too much of a blight on neighborhoods.

Love delivering to parking lots designed specifically to keep trucks out. Luckily there were enough open spaces for me to maneuver around the lot.

Federal rules dictate once we start our OnDuty/Driving clocks we have 14 hours available within which to complete our driving. So you wouldn't be able to exhaust your hours then 'hit' the store after work by driving there past your legal hours. However, within the 14 hour framework we are allowed to drive 11 hours, leaving 3 hours available to get personal things done. Generally truck drivers will take care of 'hitting' the store along their routes. It's no different than pulling over to use the restroom and logging OffDuty, simply pull over to the store along your route and log OffDuty and do your shopping. Take care that the store or establishment where you stop allows large trucks to park there.
