I find that comment callous and cold.
And I sincerely doubt Martha Stewart would say
that was a "good" thing.

Sorry you find it callous and cold, I'm just tired of all the idiots in this world, and certainly don't feel bad that one less kid with problems takes the cowards way out.
You want to kill yourself, fine, don't expect sympathy from me. The world is full of people with REAL problems and they seem to cope.
Good riddance.

I'm well versed in mental illness, and depression in particular. Killing yourself with an audience has nothing to do with mental illness, it's "look at me, I'm ill and want to take the easy way out, oh pity me".
Choking down a bullet in a dark basement is a whole lot different than going online to get an audience.
Sorry, no pity here.

 

I think the "look at me" aspect would be when you purposely don't take enough pills to finish the act, or cut deep enough, etc. I think the last thing this individual wanted was pity. Attention maybe, but pity...no.

I bet if this was a friend or family member you would be singing a different tune. People can be quite insensitive when it does not affect them personally. Do you have kids? I can't imagine you coming home to a 15 year old hanging in the garage and saying "Sorry, no pity here"

I have two friends who have lost their life at their own hands. One was depression and the other swore to his grave he couldn't live without a particular girl. The last individual was wrong and I would have done whatever possible to prove it.

As for this individual, the audience was a part of his life. He spent a lot of time on the web cam and was part of his life/lifestyle. If anything this might shed light on suicide, depression, etc.
