Oregon is raising the per mile tax to 20.5 cents per mile the first of the year. Wtf?

Well right now it's $58 one way to go to Portland up I-5 from Communistfornia. So that's a 20% increase. So now it will be almost $70 one way.

Once it's all said and done it will be $.26 per mile, or the equivalent of 1.50 per gallon at 6 mpg.

    Kate can eat it

Like I said it's gonna be an extra $23 now, round trip.

No IFTA tax on fuel there.

Even paying the tax, it's still cheaper to fuel in Oregon than communistfornia, by about 20 cents a gallon, and that's figuring in the money to pay Communistfornia their IFTA.

I see Christmas tree loads for TOP DIGE right now, so I guess I can part with the money. But we're still at the bargain 16.5 cents a mile rate.

Oh I see David- So in the End,It looks like it balances out the Same with adjacent states out there pump price

So If Oregon,Lets say is .20 cents per gallon Cheaper than everyone else PLUS no Ifta tax- only mileage tax- Should balance out then.

They have no state sales tax either. I don't know if it will equate to everyone else. But it does work out batter than Communistfornia. I haven't done the math on Oregon vs. Washington. But like Pennsylvania's IFTA is 78 cents. That's a lot. And states calculate by gallons burned, not miles. Most of the time if fuel in PA, even though it looks like a lot more, if your heading west, by the time your through Illinois or Indiana, and have paid them their IFTA, cause its already in the till from PA, you end up about $20 ahead.

The super diligent solo O/O can save about $900 a year in wasted fuel expense.

For those who must go out west, it is a shame! Another reason I only concentrate on I35 and eastbound!
