My truck's been in the shop, was there a qualcomm msg I missed about the time off? Or is it the usual, they really don't want us taking time off, and it's hard to coordinate to get both off?

Wayne hasn't mentioned anything about time off about the holidays. He will be home Tuesday after being gone for 4 weeks.:yes2557: He will be here until Friday. They are also planning on being home for Xmas, so if something has changed, i haven't heard it yet. All i heard was they were offering a $250 bonus if you drove on Xmas.

I am going to central right now and currently in the week two of the training.
I would recommend the school to just about anybody but make sure your ducks are in order before you get here. My opinion of them is really high thus far. They have been paying to bring people here out of state and if there is some reason that you don't make it through the school then they pay to get you back as long as you are up front with them and are honest.

My class ( #192 ) started out with about 50 people and now we are down to 20 maybe 23.. They check your background and for insurance reasons you cannot have any felony's and they don't want you to have any misdemenors. you can have one or two of those but be up front with them and make sure you tell them then they work it out with you. I believe the reason on the misdemenors is cause they run into Canada and drivers cannot have those running there.

the class is very fast pace and the teacher is to the point. Which i believe is a good thing. week one you do tons of paper work and go get your CDL written part passed. you have 4 try 's if still not get it they send you home. Week two is driving and thats what i am on.

If your looking for a school that will just pass you for your cdl this is not the one. They make you earn it and actually learn to drive. In week two they send you to a hotel which is paid for by them instead of staying in the dorms that they have..( which are small but you cannot beat free) During your duration of stay they have a shuttle that will take you to the store etc.

I am very pleased thus far if anyone has any questions let me know. Ill let ya know what i can..

    Take me home please,
What generally were the reasons for the wash out of students? Would really appreciate up-dating us on your career start. Why did you go with Central?

I chose them because they seemed to be the best company for me. England at least in my area wanted money down for the class and you had to sign a contract with them for two years. Central wants no money down and you work for them for only one year. And if you become a lease operator (which you have to wait three months) then they pay off your school. So you only paid 200 for the training. And during the school you have five days to decide if its the life you want kind of thing. If you decide "hey maybe I don't want to be a trucker" then they tear up your contract and owe them nothing. I think they have been really good to the people that are in our class. A few people were playing around not studying and couldn't pass the test. Well they are gone. My advice is, if you want to do trucking and you have a decent background and driving record then call central and get down here if not then I suggest getting in touch with salt lake community collage. I heard they pass pretty much anyone. But hey you won't learn what you need and you won't know the skills or have the skills. And one day people will see the difference in the two wheather it be from weather, downgrades, or docking. And I hope you don't take anyone else out with ya.

I'm going to learn the right way and as much as I can.

Currently on learning to park parallel with a semi. First time I didn't get it. But got it second time. Ill keep everyone updated as much as possible.

Nothing like squeezing a 72 foot semi into a little box without hitting anything ha ha its awesome.

Thanks for responding 'Take me home'. With a 50% wash-out, I am curious as to wheather the wash-outs were just those kind of people that will never get ahead in life, if you follow my meaning, or were they competent intellectually and with the motivation, yet had other issues, physically, medically, emotionally, or just plain common sense.
