My truck doesn't move without the radio on. Sure, there's a lot of useless b.s. on it but there's is still a lot of useful info too.

Cell phone apps can provide traffic problem info too, but they depend on somebody to hopefully stop and type in the information, and then the receiving driver needs to check for new entries and take the time to read them, possibly even while driving.

The CB isn't perfect, but it can give more instant information that is brought immediately to a driver's attention via hearing rather than more-dangerous-while-driving reading. Also, a driver can get immediate information about his load shifting, wheel smoking, etc.

Both have their place in a driver's repertoire of assists. For now, I've found the CB enough for my needs.

Blaskowitz and Snow Walker Thank this.

Lots of chemical plants are like that. Seen many a driver get there a $$ chewed out. Security guard doesn't give a flip if you dont have a cb you still broke the rules

    Blaskowitz and skellr Thank this.

That's the way it was in my day of dealing with both shippers & receivers. Many companies still require a check in before heading for the docks: loading and receiving.

I wish more drivers would follow your lead and just listen and not talk.
