Yeah, I'm paranoid because I want to protect myself. Why is that? What is paranoid about wanting to stay alive? How is staying alive "making trouble"?
What if I was to call you an idiot? Does that make it calling names, or an observation?

I am not going to argue with you i will wait for re-enforcments

I would say an observation.
An astute one. -
I may be wrong on this i do not know. These threads are for info not personal attacks! I dont want to hear gibberish from a 20 year old that is not even a trucker, i just want to know what the law states for cmv in 48 states. So lets not get too personal, if you cant handle the debate delete the thread.
-
I am not spouting gibberish.
I may not be a trucker (yet). But I have spent most of my life around guns, learning to shoot at *gasp* 6 years old.
For the past few years, I have become increasingly involved with supporting the Second Amendment, so I've had a chance to learn from the best. I know a good bit about laws concerning firearms. Which you have clearly demonstrated a lack of.
I'm not the one that can't handle the debate...this is easy and fun for me.
You have clearly stated that you see no need for you to carry a firearm. However, your belief that you do not need to carry one does not extend to the rest of us. Please don't try to force your beliefs on us.Joetro and photolurp2 Thank this. -
i was not going to argue anymore with them i have pm'ed psanderson and waiting for his imput. I just wanted to know the law's but the political part of this site is always a little heated

State laws usually prohibit carrying a firearm (as in pistol) in any vehicle unless one or two things transpire, excusing the fact that it must be encased and the rounds must be separated from the weapon. You must either have a permit from the individual state(s) to carry (and I won't begin to discuss the laws of states like CT, CA, or NY), or you may pay the $500.00 annual fee for an FFL (federal firearms license). In order to receive a permit from an individual state, and as a general rule, you must be a resident of that state. The only exception that I can think of is for shotgon & rifle during hunting season but never in a commercial vehicle. You will also find a law (not a rule/regulation as in the C.F.R.) somewhere in the United States Code (U.S.C.) that prohibits a firearm in a commercial vehicle (I think it may be in the transportation laws contained in Title 49 USC) but I can't remenber where specifically, but reading the USC to me is like reading The Iliad by Homer or the Rubiat of Omar Kiam........BORING!
I had an FFL back before the cost was so prohibitive. But the paperwork will also drive you nuts. An FFL allows one to buy & sell across the nation. Essentially you become a firearms dealer. But even with an FFL the USC prohibits a firearm in a CMV.
-
You had an FFL...but you don't approve of someone carrying a firearm for protection?
Oh, and if you thought the paperwork and dealing with the BATFE was bad previously...it's gotten worse. They are pretty much choking out the so called "kitchen table" FFL holders...photolurp2 Thanks this. -
NO NO i dont have an fll that was the quote from a pm from a dot officer. I am not against carrying i just said it is not legal to carry in a cmv big difference.
