Yah I stoped at weight station the one on I-5 Highway before you exit for 299 Highway and I asked the officer about 299 highway it's okay for truck because it was the first time for me to make sure I can go and he said yeah it's okay it's okay for the truck but before it was not okay .. the road it was very hard too much carve you drive up you drive down it's take you a lot of time to finish it 160 miles I was pulling reefer 53 ft with a tractor sleeper cab I see some trucks was going like Walmart truck delivery at Eureka City

101 south of Eureka is length restricted at Richardson Grove. There is no detour.
If you get caught in the length restricted area...and you probably will because all the local CHP is very tuned in to over length trucks...the citation is extremely expensive. The following link explains it better than I can.
