Did I mention age? I am sure I didn't. So don't take it personal when a comment is made, unless of course it describes you. By your own accounts, it dosn't, so don't worry about it.
30's true - Some of Grandma's lil' darlings will be in their 40's and 50's and will be a new breed to the working life. The mega orientation office is always full of unfit middle age men that haven't achieved anything or seen their waist in decades. If that isn't you, don't worry about it.
And just like my first comment inferred, these same people will insist on automatics because double clutching an air assisted clutch, or levering in a gear with a 3' stick will exhaust them out, longing for the day when grandma and snacks were just a mouse click away.

You know what...something has to be terribly wrong when you guys have to REQUEST to go home. There’s no other person at your company that has to REQUEST to go home. The janitor doesn’t request to go home. None of the desk jockeys request to go home. They come in, do their time and go home. Why do you guys do it?
One day, companies are going to wise up and by those big house sleepers, and put 3 of you in it. Complete with little kitchen and shower and toilet. That way, you will have 2 spotters when backing, never run out of hours, and have someone to help you wipe your arse. They will have grocery trucks come to the terminals so that you guys don’t have to get out of the truck except to fuel. While there, they can arrange a port o John truck to pull out all the biohazards.
Would make for a good show...instead of “Fat Guys in the Woods”, you would have “Three Men in a Truck”, giving survival tips for people used to surviving in grandmas basement.Zeviander, Mr Ed and Toomanybikes Thank this. -

Been driving her for 18 months now. Nicest truck I've ever driven. Very reliable and wish I had the money to buy her and get her out full time. She's got me through a lot of sticky situations and wouldn't really want to drive any other truck unless forced to.

It is pretty rare in my opinion to have a youngster like yourself talk like one of the older hands. However. I must caution you to understand that to me, having lived and grew up around old iron at the nearby 76 not far away and have truckers come in to our bar for a drink etc and so on it's pretty intense for it's time back then.
Those days are over forever. I hate to try and be fancy with concept or theory, Im no good with that talk. I feel that right around 1995 or so, something broke inside America. 9-11 came along and made sure of that. I find myself living two lies. Did I live a good live growing up? Sure. It was not much of a life. But it was rich and full. But living a life now seeing the losses along the way to society in general as the young millenials coming in and learn that there is no helicopter mom to save them... it's heartbreaking.
Im not to rain on anyone's parade. But at some point in the future you young ones will be me talking about the things like DEF, autos and so forth as if we talked about old iron in our day.
